Hybrid Chem Concrete-WP Admixture (available in both liquid and powder forms) is a NEW generation of integral concrete waterproofing admixtures, referred to as ‘hybrid’ admixture. This product is proven to be the current most reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally-friendly solution for enhancing concrete waterproofing and durability.
At a dosage of 1% – 3% of total cementitious materials by weight (used as water replacement), this admixture significantly improves the fresh, mechanical, and durability properties of concrete and provides a permanently waterproof concrete for water and liquid retaining structures under both static and hydrostatic water pressure. Hybrid Chem Concrete-WP Admix is classified as non-toxic, environmentally-friendly, and non-hazardous material. This product significantly improves the durability and lifespan of concrete structures exposed to seawater, chloride, acid, sulphate, rainwater, salt, alkali-silica reaction (ASR), freezing-thawing, efflorescence, static and hydrostatic water pressure, etc.
Current waterproofing admixtures in the market normally use only one waterproofing mechanism or agent. But, in Hybrid Chem Concrete-WP Admix, different waterproofing agents such as hydrophobing, pore blocking, crystalline or self-healing, and expanding/densifying nano-sized chemicals were modified and used to provide the most reliable waterproofing admixtures in the market and increase the confidence of our construction industry in these products.
Independent testing and research has demonstrated that concrete treated by Hybrid ChemConcrete-WP Admix fulfils the requirements specified in New Zealand, UK, Australia, Europe, and USA standards for waterproof concrete. Hybrid ChemConcrete-WP Admix is used to eliminate the ingress of water in basements, bridge decks, wharves, tunnels, concrete waterways, concrete piles, foundations, concrete pavements, concrete pipelines, water & OSD tanks, swimming pools, shotcretes, sewer pipes, tiles, parking lots, roofs, balconies, dams, podium decks, reclaimed land, service environments, trafficable and/or landscaped concrete, concrete road barriers, concrete kerbs, concrete blocks/bricks, and areas where hazardous chemicals (e.g., salt, organic acids, sulphates, chlorides, etc.) are present. It is also used in any concrete in marine environments that needs a long-term and maintenance-free service life such as jetties and wharves, boat ramps, and other similar structures. It can be used in any situation that is damp or wet and where the transfer of moisture, the intake or absorption of water, and the presence of salts, acids, or other corrosive chemicals is unpleasant. This product provides permanently waterproof concrete under both static and hydrostatic water pressure.
Hybrid ChemConcrete-WP Admix was developed at Chem Concrete by a well-known team of globally-distinguishef professors and PhD holders specialising in concrete waterproofing and durability (with a combined experience of over 200 years in both concrete industry and research). During many years of research, all the relevant fresh, mechanical, and long-term durability tests were conducted, and the effectiveness of this novel product is well-proven.
Independent testing by several universities and companies along with successful field applications in several projects have further proved the excellent performance of this novel product in practice.
Hybrid ChemConcrete-WP Admix has several benefits over surface protection methods and coatings. For example, concrete treated with Hybrid ChemConcrete-WP does not require regular maintenance, is not vulnerable to deterioration, can be used where it is too complex or impossible to apply a layer of protection, and does not include labour work or application costs. In addition, this product is even more cost-effective than surface protection methods in most cases (thanks to our R&D team for developing such a low-cost and reliable product). As an admixture added to concrete at batching plants or sometimes to concrete trucks on site, this product saves time and cost and eliminates the ongoing maintenance expenses as well.
